Hanukkah artifact

A Hanukia that works on the principle of 'connected vessels'

The menorah (AKA Hanukiah) is a Jewish religious object upon which, lighting candles during the Hanukkah holiday.

The lighting Tradition and the instrument itself are over two thousand years old, and its essence is advertising the "Chanukah miracle". Unlike the menorah of the Temple, which had only seven branches, the Hanukiah is a nine branched candelabrum, and is composed of eight branches and a 'Shamesh' (the "attendant" candle) - an additional branch intended for lighting the other candles. In a kosher Hanukiah, all eight candles must be evenly spaced, at a uniform height and in a straight line, while the 'Shamash' has to be distinguished in some way from the rest of the candles. The Holiday lasts for eight days. The tradition is to light up a number of candles according to the days that have pest since the holyday began, and as well as a 'Shamash' for each one of the days. As an example - on the first evening, along with the 'Shamash', one light should be burning. As an example - on the first evening, along with the Shamash, one light should be burning. On the eighth night, besides the Shamash eight candles are lit. In fact, the role of 'Shamash' is originally to light up the candles, and then, for any use. Unlike the other candles, which is forbidden to use them, besides publicizing the miracle.

At the core of the design , it was important for me to cut off the 'Shamash' from its low reputation, as its name indicates, and as insignificant compared to the other candles, but rather to leverage and emphasize the role and size of its importance and make it Literally and figuratively – 'The Highlight' of the Hanukiah. To do so, I knew I had to try and make it very similar to the rest of the candles, however, make a small but positive difference. Then I realized that in order to change the perception of the people, that the 'Shamash' is a lesser value, I have to somewhat reduce their physical contact with it during the ritual itself, and also to emphasize his role as one directly responsible for the existence of the others. I preferred to stick to the original ritual, and use just oil and not wax candles.
